WHo can we help
Respirator Fit Clearance
Medically speaking, all respirator-wearing personnel should have a medical evaluation provided by the employer to determine the employee’s ability to use a respirator.
The medical evaluation needs to be conducted before the employee is allowed to wear a respirator.
Note: A respirator clearance only clears the employee to wear a respirator and the general type of respirator they can use. It does not medically clear an officer for duty.

What are the OSHA Regulations?
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134
- Employers must provide respiratory protection to their employees when such equipment is necessary to protect the health of the employee against breathing airborne containments. Before wearing a respirator, workers must first be medically evaluated using the mandatory “Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire.” This must be reviewed with a PLHCP. When required by the PLHCP, additional follow-up testing may include a medical exam, additional questionnaire, PFT, EKG, chest x-ray, blood draw and urine sample. All testing will be performed by a PLHCP and/or trained technician. Annual requirement. Approximately 25 minutes
MOBILE FRIENDLY
