In very basic terms, Hazmat and Hazwoper physicals are necessary for employees that are exposed to hazardous materials, such as:
A HAZMAT physical is required by OSHA for employees who are exposed to hazardous chemicals or other materials that could cause health problems.
Most HAZMAT physicals are required to be performed annually, unless determined otherwise by a physician. This ensures that there have been no changes to the employee’s health that would put them at increased risk if exposed to hazardous materials.
